And we queer people certainly know how to do this! It was our normal way of being for most of the decades I've been alive -- when neither political party had our backs. We didn't win dignity and rights because Democratic politicians saw the light. Insofar as they sometimes supported us, it was because we had been telling our stories and the PUBLIC came around.

We see this even with President Obama, who publicly opposed legalizing same-sex marriage until his position "evolved."

I'm pretty sure that evolution would never have happened if it hadn't been for countless people like you sharing stories and lives.

So, we know how to do this. Time to get to it again!
