And some states, like Texas, were actually in the habit of enforcing those laws sometimes. Montana too, which I wrote about in a story a few years ago about a Montana man convicted under a sodomy law struggling to get his name off sexual predator registries. State officials were fighting hard to keep him on the registry. For consensual gay sex that is no longer a crime anywhere in the United States. Lots of these states want their laws back. They really want to put us in jail for having sex with one another.
