And every night, trying to wind down before bed by watching some light entertainment, I have to sit through a particular Trump ad at least twice:
A very angry-looking woman complains that Kamala Harris supports "sex-change operations" for "illegals" She sneers as she nearly spits the phrase, "Kamala can NEVER be president."
That's the Trump campaign vilifying two marginalized groups at once.
You know, when I was growing up Republicans were at the front of the line praising immigration, rather disingenuously given their racism, but at least in spirit.
It's been astonishing to watch their about-face on the subject over the decades as they now condemn immigration almost a priori.
As an aside, when I was growing up, conservatives loved the aphorism that it's better to acquit 10 guilty men than convict one innocent man.
Now, we see Republican governors and attorneys general advocating for the execution of people who judges have affirmed are probably innocent.
How depraved the Republican Party has become!
Almost their entire campaign this year is being run on hatred of marginalized groups of people.
Then that Madison Square Garden rally.
Wow!
