And, as a matter of fact, the very first thing the premiere of Ontario did when Trump announced tariffs on Canadian goods was to order all spirits imported from the U.S. off Ontario liquor-store shelves. He can do that, because like with several U.S. states, the government of Ontario maintains a monopoly on retail spirits sales.

So, the response to 25% tariffs was a complete elimination of US spirits, including everything from Kentucky, from shelves in Canada's largest, most economically powerful province.

If I'm not mistaken, he's put that order on hold for now, since Trump seems to have blinked.

But going by reporting in Canada and lots of op-eds, many Canadians are eschewing US products entirely.
