Americans are wrong, whether they call themselves conservative or not, if they try to erase LGBTQ people's existence and if they try to stop people from reading about other people and about ideas about those people. Banning books and suppressing ideas is anathema to the ideals of freedom and personal liberty this nation was founded on.

If conservative Americans don't like particular kinds of speech, their remedy be should more speech. If they think they're right about something, they should try to convince people they're right.
