America is the greatest country on Earth. Our lifestyle is second to none because our workers and our people are second to none. But we stand in a crisis, because liberal politicians and labor unions are trying to destroy us by spending more money than we have. By wrecking the great corporations that have fed our prosperity.

We must act now before it is too late. We must slash government spending. We must reign in the labor unions that are making people lazy and unproductive and uncompetitive.

Vote Republican now so that you remain prosperous.

That’s the message I was hearing in 1980 as the son of working class people living in what became the rust belt.

I watched my friends and family buy that message, act on it, and then slowly and surely sink into poverty and despair brought on by that failed experiment.

Before long, I moved to Europe and lived in a country that embraced collectivism for the betterment of the people, and I was actually astonished by the beautiful lifestyles that working people had there. Better than at home! I could not believe what I was seeing.

Only then did I begin to understand the astonishing extent of the big lie.
