Amen! I know I could add, with groups of Proud Boys terrorizing Pride events all June, sometimes with the active cooperation of law enforcement officers, why aren't they being routinely described as gang members?
Why aren't police targeting them the same way they target Black men? In Los Angeles County for example, the sheriff's department will harass and even arrest Black men for merely appearing to be in a gang, even in the absence of evidence of criminal behavior. Wear in the wrong clothes, flash the wrong hand sign, go to jail. Being suspected of belonging to a gang is all it takes.
Yet throughout the entire month of June, members of The Proud Boys flashed white supremacist hand signs while screaming obscenities and terrorizing families and small children at libraries and other Pride events. How many of them went to jail, you ask.
Zero. Not a single one was even taken in for questioning.
Why? I'll just note the white supremacist hand signs, and leave it to the reader to guess.
