Although I was never a fan of President Reagan, I was in Berlin when he demanded of Mr. Gorbachev to, “Tear down this Wall!”

His words resonated deeply with me as they did with people all over the world who yearn for freedom.

I lived in a city where family and loved ones were separated by concrete and barbed wire. I detested that abominable Wall, as did everyone I knew.

Americans stood for its destruction! I helped tear it down with my own hands. And now some of my fellow Americans are trying to build our own version.

Such shame! I don’t understand how we for to this terrible place.
