Also, try churchclarity.org, which maintains a verified database of 100% LGBTQ-affirming Christian churches in the United States. They currently list over 5,000. Pretty much no matter where you live, there’s an affirming church near you.
Obviously, all of them use the Bible in their worship services. Because mainline Protestant Christians really don’t think the Bible condemns homosexuality the way Evangelicals and other fundamentalists claim it does.
Catholics are another matter. The Catholic hierarchy condemns homosexuality for extra-Biblical reasons, citing their own peculiar version of “natural law” far more often than quoting Bible passages. Catholic theologians are quite on board with the idea that the “sin of sodom,” for example, had nothing to do with homosexuality. They just don’t care.
In any case, LGBTQ people are not interested in banning the Bible. We aren’t particularly interested in seeing it interpreted literally, but then neither are almost all Christians, except when it comes to us.
