Ah, the deli wars!

While my late partner was careful to take me to the Carnegie deli at least a couple of times, he was at heart a devoted Katz’s man. They spend 36 days curing their pastrami and corned beef, you know. ;-)

It’s comforting to know that even though the Carnegie is now gone, Katz’s remains. You can still get a 3-pound red-meat bomb if you really want an authentic one.

But whatever you do, don’t pass up the chopped chicken liver.
