Ah, P-Town! Lenny and I used to spend two weeks there in a rental cottage every season, usually the last week of August and the first week of September or thereabouts, so we could have one week with lots of crowds and one week of peacefulness.

Did you know that Race Point at the tip of the Cape is one of two spots in North America where you can watch the sun rise and set over the same beach? It's a bit of a hike from the center of P-Town, but it's easy with a bike. The other spot is Key West, which is also a big gay destination. Go figure.

Speaking of the Portuguese traditions, they make a beautiful semi-sweet bread roll at a couple of the Portuguese bakeries that are a perfect accompaniment to sunrise, especially when slathered with local beach plum jam.

Dinner at the Lobster Pot has been a must for decades, and ordering just about anything is usually an excellent bet.

The other must is afternoon cocktails at the Boat Slip, which is nowhere near the oldest gay bar in North America, but they have a pool. Which facilitates speedos. Not that I ever noticed when I was there with my husband Lenny.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it. 😂
