Again, no member of the NYPD has been barred from Pride so long as they come in civilian clothes, clearly not as representatives of the NYPD.

The NYPD is an abusive institution that has no presumptive right to take part officially in our events. I think that much should be obvious. Should any institution be entitled to participate just because they want to?

When we allow and overtly white supremacist group to march? Of course we would not.

Given it the NYPD is currently brutalizing LGBTQ people, particularly transgender people and people of color, it is right and proper that they be excluded from our events.

Heritage of Pride has given them until 2025 to reform and earn their way back in. That is also right and proper — and again I think pretty obviously so.

GOAL is a tougher problem, but if they want to come to Pride in civilian clothes and make clear they are protesting the department rather than endorsing it, I for one would support their participation.
