Across the entire vastness of the United States, perhaps 1.6 million trans people exist, less than 1% of the population. That means that the people you meet in daily life, fewer than 1 in 100 is trans. Depending on what statistics you look at, it might even be closer to 1 in 200.

Yet to look at all the haters screaming about biology or whatever, you’d think some sort of existential threat was wreaking havoc on society.

The only havoc being wreaked is on members of this small minority just trying to lead their lives in peace.

I recently wrote about a transgender teenager and his mother who had to flee Florida over hysteria being whipped up about trans people.

That boy and his mom don’t care about people’s gender theories. They simply want the freedom to live in peace as they choose to live.

I don’t understand why that’s up for debate.

Anti-LGBTQ activist types insist they must "protect" the boy from "mutilation." But doctors don’t do genital surgery on minors, so that was always a red herring.

The "protection" politicians offered him ended up denying him access to puberty blockers and hormone therapy, and drove him out of the state.

In less than 2 years, he’ll be an adult, legally capable of making his own decisions without his mother’s assent. Does anyone suppose your magically stop being trans when he turns 18?

No, but in the meantime they sure are willing to make his life hell. Over issues that have absolutely nothing to do with them, that do not in any way affect their lives.

That’s what witch hunts are like.
