Absolutely, Marley.

I know a few people working in the field of elder care who are beginning to work to raise awareness of issues related to LGBTQ people.

The “second closet” is something they talk about a lot.

We can and certainly should work from within our various LGBTQ communities to provide elder care, but given our relatively small numbers and sparse presence in some areas, we’ll probably never be able to provide all of our own solutions.

At best, those of us with significant amounts of money will be OK.

What we have to fight for is true equality — an end to the notion that religious beliefs are valid justification for excluding and shunning us.
