Absolutely, Jack Preston King. I’ve noticed those and other problems with writing on Medium for Android. I learned early on in my Medium experience that writing on mobile just isn’t going to work. I can’t even submit an article to a publication on a mobile device. That’s been a problem for me when I’ve been busy running around and writing in waiting rooms and so forth.

I’m a runner. I’d love to be able to go out for a run, rest under a tree, write for an hour, then run back. Not gonna happen with the current Android app.

But I can deal with that.

I think that support for reading and interacting on mobile should be a bare minimum expectation. I find myself discouraged from wanting to browse Medium lately if I’m on my phone.

If I’m not able to clap, I find myself saying to myself that I’ll just read later, when I’m on my laptop.

Later often never comes.

Jim
