Absolutely. Trump appeals to a base of support that is racist, sexist, and homophobic. It is no coincidence that he has constantly dog whistled to people at the top of the dominance hierarchy.

It’s no coincidence that he flirts with white supremacists and neo-nazis.

It’s no coincidence that he praises the Proud Boys, who proudly declare themselves to be European (read: white) chauvinists.

It’s no coincidence that Donald Trump Jr screamed himself hoarse at the rally the other day, inciting the crowd’s hatred of transgender people.

Trump worked his ass off to enrage racists, homophobes, and others who perceive themselves as being owed a position at the top of society.

And when Trump called they came running, as I wrote the other day like fell creatures out of a Tolkien novel.
