A very good thought! It does make me a little uneasy, instinctively, because I've associated American flags with conservatism since I was a small child. And every fiber of my body screams out against displaying any solidarity with conservatives, who to me are morally depraved. But... maybe that's the best reason we should do this. Why should the evil conservatives be the ones who get to identify with the flag. Our very flawed founders were, for their day, rather radical and progressive, after all.
