A really interesting take, Rand! I’m so sorry for the loss of your father, and I can relate having lost mine in August of 2020. I was very lucky to have him, given that he set aside an almost entire life of prejudice in order to love me fully as a son.

I have to admit Netflix’s Coming Out Colton generally makes me sigh and wish I could lose my lunch. It’s everything that’s wrong with reality TV.

Your take on Colton’s father, though, is really interesting. He does sound like a dignified anchor in the midst of an exploitative shitstorm.
