Writers, on your marks!

Thunderstorm season is almost over where I live, but we’ve had some blue-electrical hair-lifting dillies in the last week. Enough to send my dog Sam scampering for refuge under a bed. What do you do when lightning threatens?

It’s time for a new Prism & Pen challenge. What can you write about Lightning and Strikes?

P&P’s new two-week challenge starts today

We’re looking for fiction, personal essays, and storytelling of all kind. As always, poets are welcome and encouraged. Anything you have to say about Lightning and Strikes would be awesome. Wanna subvert the theme and write weird? We love that.

Question: Do writers have to write to the prompt to submit? Nope! It’s there to inspire you, not restrict you. P&P writers are welcome to write about anything within our guidelines at any time. …

As always, we offer plenty of nonfiction storytelling, including ElMehdi El Azhary’s examination of closeted gay life in Morocco.

Let’s dive in!
