100% agree! The usage of female to replace woman has grated on me for years.

First, it’s dehumanizing. Second, it’s probably copied from police usage. Cops call men males and women females, clinical vocabulary that is intentionally psychologically dehumanizing.

It’s part of the process used to inure cops to the violence they commit on their jobs. It’s part of the reason police culture is so brutal.

Women are not females. They are human beings who deserve to be called women.
